Laura Rose Komada is a Seattle-based artist working primarily in painting and drawing. She received an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Washington and spent three years living in Japan, where she developed a contemplative practice that continues to inform her studio process.
Her professional background includes work in digital publishing, design, and gallery operations, including sixteen years working within Seattle’s contemporary art community through a long-term role at a contemporary gallery.
Her current paintings begin from handwritten words that develop through line, color, and spatial composition on linen and canvas surfaces.
